Nela is an 8-month-old puppy from a village in Córdoba. When she was a baby, she came to the Guarida with her siblings and was adopted by a family. While she stayed there, her siblings came with us to Galgos en Familia and were later adopted.
After a few months, once she stopped being a tiny, adorable puppy and got bigger, the family didn’t want her anymore. It’s what often happens: people adopt on a whim when they’re small, and return them when they grow up.
Nela arrived with us feeling completely lost. She didn’t understand why the family that raised her had abandoned her, and suddenly found herself in a kennel with dogs she didn’t know, outside of what she thought was her home and family. Little by little she’ll understand what’s happened. For now, we’re giving her lots of love so she feels the absence of the family she thought was hers as little as possible, and can be happy again.
Nela needs a family to restore her trust in what real love is. A family that loves her, is patient with her because she’s young and playful, and gives her the chance to be happy.
