Taria came to our shelter from a village in Cordoba. She was handed over by her owner, who, after almost 7 years of using her, decided that she was no longer of any use to him. Taria is a clear example of what it means to be a galgo in Spain, of what it means to be one of those dogs that are wrongly called ‘hunting dogs’.

Taria carries in her body, in her eyes and in her soul the after-effects of 7 years of mistreatment and misery, of fear and pain. As a consequence, she shows herself to be a shy and cautious girl with people. She needs to be shown patience and affection. Since she arrived at our shelter, little by little we are seeing her improvement. Little by little she is understanding that she no longer has to be afraid, coming closer every day and showing curiosity.

She is wonderful with other dogs, she loves to play with all her companions, males and females. We believe that a home where she already has a sibling dog will be very helpful in her adaptation.

We know that in the right hands she will improve a lot more, she will be able to leave behind all her years of pain and become a full and happy dog. If you have experience in similar cases. If you think you have the patience and love necessary to heal her wounds, write to us at gefadopciones@hotmail.com
