Although Dyango is not a galgo he still desperately needs a forever home and that is why he is our ‘dog of the week’!!
Dyango had been abandoned on the streets of a town near Malaga. He was all alone and scavenging for any food he could find. We don’t know how long he had been living like that but it was clear he had never know a loving home.
Luckily Dyango was rescued and was moved to a safe environment in a dog residence until we were able to bring him to our shelter.
Dyango is best described as a big cuddly teddy bear! He loves the attention he gets from our volunteers and can’t get enough strokes and cuddles. He loves to be made a fuss of and gives back all the love and affection he receives in spades.
We have many children visit our shelter and Dyango is always a big hit with them. They take him for walks and make a big fuss of him which he loves. He has an excellent temperament around children and adults alike. He is not at all fearful or dominant.
Dyango also gets along great with the other dogs at the shelter, he’s playful and energetic and very entertaining. It’s hard to imagine why anyone would have abandoned this big sweetheart. Amazingly it did not deter him from loving humans and wanting to be part of a family.
It is almost a year since Dyango was rescued but no-one has been interested in adopting him and we just don’t understand why. He is loving, sweet, playful and affectionate and has a lot to give to his future family. He would do well in most environments as he loves people, children and other dogs.
