Any (Annie) is our new ‘dog of the week’! We want to tell you more about her story because it is one that is so common to many of the galgos we rescue, and many of those that are still abandoned on the streets. Any lived on the streets for years along with Ivan, a former resident of our shelter who is now happy in his forever home. Any was extremely scared of humans and it was very difficult for our team to catch her.
Eventually they were able to rescue her and bring her to the shelter but she was in poor condition, hungry and poorly. Now she has been with us some time and is happily enjoying her day to day life at the shelter. She enjoys spending time with other dogs and is very sociable, not at all dominant.
Although she is still a little shy with humans at first her confidence has grown with every cuddle and strokes she’s received. We’re sure that little by little she’ll soon become a confident galga and forget about her past life of neglect.
Any is looking for her forever home, with a family that will help her overcome her shyness and will love her every step of the way.
Any is such a sweet dog and we believe would adapt well to a home environment. She only needs to be given a chance.
