We are debuting our new website and with it we are bringing back one of our favorite features: dog of the week. Each week we’ll tell the story of one of our dogs so that everyone can get to know them and fall in love with them as all our volunteers at the shelter do every day.
For this first edition we’ll tell you all about one of our veteran residents at the shelter, the young and playful Tuareg.
Tuareg is another dog that was abandoned by his cruel owners, despite being a marvelous animal, and was just waiting to be put down in a dog pound. Tuareg was abandoned in Lucena when suddenly one day his luck changed and we could save him. He was brought to our shelter along with his companions Ara and Carol where he’s been living for months now.
His companions were adopted soon after they arrived to their forever homes where they now have a family and all the love and attention they need. However, Tuareg is still waiting.. He is completely healthy and has been tested for all illnesses and has a clean bill of health. When Tuareg was rescued he had a fracture in one of his legs which healed by itself without the need to operate, however this has left him with is a very slight limp. He has completely recovered and despite his very slight limp he is an active dog, very playful and ready to continue his life with a loving family.
Tuareg is a friendly dog, not at all fearful with a great temperament. He gets on well with other dogs and plays, eats, sunbathes and enjoys spending time with them. He’s loving, loves strokes, and will go looking for them with his tail wagging with joy. He’s not at all dominant, so would live well with other dogs with whom he’d surely enjoy playing with. He has also been cat tested and is completely compatible.
